TECHNOLOGY

Augmented & virtual reality are boosting guest experiences

Hotels are enhancing guest experiences by leveraging technology like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and digital signage to create
interactive and unforgettable stays.

The integration of technology like AR for wayfinding, gamification, and interactive hotel rooms, along with VR applications in staff training, property tours, and immersive experiences, reflects the industry's shift towards redefining and elevating hospitality to surpass guest expectations.

Art, technology combine in boutique London hotel

A new maximalist boutique hotel has opened in London’s Soho neighborhood that will feature a rooftop bar, touchscreen tablets in guest rooms and 24-hour room service. Broadwick Soho is designed to be glamorous and opulent, with nods to the owner Noel Hayden’s family, particularly his magician father. The decor includes a vast art collection with a work by Francis Bacon.

PEOPLE & STAFF

The better way to show staff appreciation

Hospitality leaders can enhance employee engagement through creative and personalized recognition strategies, moving beyond traditional forms like plaques and awards.

Tailoring recognition to individual preferences, making it a regular
habit, reinforcing desired behaviors, anchoring it to organizational values, and injecting fun into the process are key practices for building a positive recognition culture in the workplace.

REVENUE & INVESTMENT

Sustainability helms Chicago boutique hotel proposal

Developer Cogswell Realty and investor Erol Stapleton are proposing a 15-story, 143-room boutique hotel in Chicago's Fulton Market District at 1016-1020 W. Lake St. The hotel, designed to be net zero with sustainable materials, will feature a rooftop lounge, a wellness club, and commercial space on the ground floor, and it plans to rely on rideshare and valet services instead of onsite parking.
