Amazon has unveiled its One Enterprise palm recognition technology that could streamline the way hotels provide access to rooms and enable guests to pay for additional items while on property. Amazon says that the device is more secure than traditional methods of authentication and IHG Hotels & Resorts has committed to piloting the technology next year.

Chicago and other big cities see occupancy rising
Chicago took the top spot for highest volume of meetings and events in November, according to a study by Knowland. This represents an 8.6% increase year-over-year, compared to the national average of 5.6%, both numbers reflecting the rising occupancy demand in big US cities. The top five drivers of this growth were national association events, education events, weddings, healthcare meetings, and technology meetings.
