Destination of the Week: Hotel ZaZa Dallas Uptown

Owned by: Opened in 2002 by developer Charles Givens, the property is the first in the Hotel ZaZa brand, which also includes locations in Austin and Houston.  

What to expect: Eclectic luxury is the name of the game here. Upon entering the Duncan Miller-designed property, guests are greeted with high ceilings, a grand chandelier, pristine tiled floors, and floor-to-ceiling red velvet curtains. The hotel was recently awarded a Michelin Key for its outstanding suites, amenities, restaurants and spa.

Dining options: Dragonfly is a go-to Dallas dining destination, offering American classics, an artful ambiance, and one of the largest whiskey collections in the country. Poolside provides a relaxing outdoor experience with light fare, signature cocktails, and the option to book private cabanas.

What stands out: The opulent Magnificent Seven Suites, ranging from 1,312 to 2,145 sq. ft., are each designed with a unique theme. Standouts include Raven, a Hitchcock-inspired Noir retreat, and The Last Czar, a Baroque suite adorned with Russian Royal Family artwork and mahogany furnishings.
